A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND 00/100 DOLLARS ($500,000.00), CONSISTING OF A REIMBURSEMENT GRANT AWARD FROM THE ALLIANCE FOR AGING, INC., A FLORIDA NOT FOR PROFIT CORPORATION, ADMINISTERING FUNDS FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ELDER AFFAIRS (“DOEA”); FURTHER ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT TITLED “LOCAL SERVICES PROGRAM AT REBECA SOSA CENTER 2026-2027,” FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JULY 1, 2026, THROUGH JUNE 30, 2027; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, ALL IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF, IMPLEMENTATION OF, AND COMPLIANCE WITH SAID GRANT AWARD.

WHEREAS, the City of Miami has been awarded grant funding from the Alliance for Aging, Inc. (“Alliance”) in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($500,000.00) (“Grant Award”) to provide Local Services Program services, including meals and recreational services, for eligible older adults at the Rebeca Sosa Center; and

WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Elder Affairs (“DOEA”) has entered into a contract with the Alliance to fund Local Services Program providers in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties; and

WHEREAS, the Grant Award is for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, with a contract term beginning July 1, 2026, or the date the contract is signed by both parties, whichever is later, and ending June 30, 2027; and

WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Commission to accept the reimbursement Grant Award, establish a Special Revenue Project, and authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute any and all necessary documents, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, for the acceptance, implementation of, and compliance with the Grant Award and to appropriate the same;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to accept the reimbursement grant award from the Alliance for Aging, Inc., a Florida not for profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($500,000.00) for the provision of elderly services for the period beginning July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

Section 3. The following new Special Revenue Project is established, and resources are appropriated as described herein:

REBECA SOSA CENTER 2026-2027

RESOURCES:ALLIANCE FOR AGING, INC.$500,000.00

APPROPRIATIONS:LOCAL SERVICES PROGRAM AT $500,000.00

REBECA SOSA CENTER 2026-2027

Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized1 to execute the necessary documents, amendments, extensions, renewals, and modifications, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, for the acceptance, implementation of, and compliance with the reimbursement grant award.

Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoptionand signature of the Mayor.
